Out of the wilderness
End of the road
Into the common-ess
Of what I call home
A last whiff of coolness
Near the ocean's edge
Take in the quiet-ness
Of the deep
Breath in the stillness
'Til its time again. . .
'Til its time. . .
'Til. . .

Whitney
Went up the trail to Lone Pine Lake, a fourth of the way up the summit... I couldn't go another mile to the Outpost Camp- not this time (I really need to get fit if I want to get to the summit!)

Red Bear, Red Bear
I have seen red bear signs all over Yosemite, the signs are placed where a bear has been hit by a speeding vehicle, it is there to remind motorists to slow down because speed kills bears. :(

Yosemite
People speaking in diverse languages,
Different colors,
Various shapes & sizes,
Expressions abounding
Coming together
To experience the
Wonders of nature.

Pilgrim
I feel like a pilgrim,
A gypsy,
A homeless traveler,
Never knowing
where I'll sleep,
Or when I'll stop to eat.

Never knowing

Road's End
Went to King's Canyon and was excited to see the "end of the road". . . finally got to the "Road's End". . . and do you know -- the road never really ends, it only loops and takes you back to the road! ---huh--- ?
Went back to camp at Sunset a second night.

Grant
Saw the General Grant Tree in the midst of other giant Sequoias, it was huge, really huge, but the photo I took does not do justice to it- nothing will- one has to see it to experience its 'hugeness'. Lets!
Sequoia
Late last night, the neighbors said a bear walked through our campsite (Dorst Camp), right pass our tent, and I missed it! Hmmm, I wonder what the bear was thinking while walking by the tent... Tonight we camp at Sunset, right in the middle of bear country- maybe I'll see my brother bear tonight, maybe he'll see me- who knows? I'm glad God knows!
Ready, Set, Go!
At last,
All packed
And ready to go.
210W, 5N, 99N. 198E,
All the way into
Sequoia National Park,
pass corn fields,
pass trucks loaded
heavy with tomatoes,
onions, or oranges,
pass orchards,
pass bored cows
huddled close together,
pass 'civilization'
right smack into
the wilderness-
without any network services
available!
(until now, better send this late blog in a hurry before i lose this connection- I'll try to send another updated one for today in a few)

Plans
You can make plan,
after plan,
after plan,
after plan;
unless you have
the right heart
& proper preparation
the plans
will forever
remain
plans. . .

preparations 101
Getting ready for the climb/trip... have to go buy supplies: trail food, other food supplies, first aid supplies, & other things I can't think of right now.
break
time to go back to the wild
time to visit my roots
time to relax...
take a deep breath...
get rid of all these worldly clutter...
